Max Rowland

Max joins CIMA with over 9 years of experience in 501(c)3/nonprofit organizations in the arts, financial regulation, community development, housing justice, and policy advocacy. They have spent the last several years working in housing development and advocacy organizations, most recently serving as the Grant Writer & Manager for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville. This range of experience is what makes Max passionate about supporting diverse organizations seeking mission-driven results for their community and society at large. They are passionate about empowering organizations to achieve sustainable, manageable growth, while working towards ambitious goals for a greater social impact. Max received their B.A. in Linguistics from the College of William and Mary, with a concentration in sociolinguistics. They received their Masters in Social Work from the University at Buffalo with a “macro” concentration in nonprofit management, grant writing, community development, and policy analysis. Max lives with their partner and adorable calico cat in rural Nelson County, Virginia.
